BigV Regular Season Cancelled, Finals To Go Ahead For VYC Ranger Men

Basketball Victoria have advised that all remaining BigV regular season fixtures have been cancelled with the current Top-4 teams in each division/conference to progress to a BigV Finals series.

For our VYC Rangers this means that our Ranger Men will progress to the Watson Conference Semi Finals, having finished second on Watson ladder. Unfortunately our Ranger Women’s season is now over with this news, having finished out of finals contention.

DBA would like to congratulate both of our VYC Ranger teams on terrific regular seasons with each fighting through call-ups, injuries and the current COVID-crisis that has made competitive basketball so difficult on & off-the-court. It’s a great testament to Men’s coach Brent Andrews, Women’s coach Ryan Rooney and all of our players that they were able to compete at such a high level this year with all of those challenges and we look forward to seeing what is in store for these young stars in the near future.

In that near future is a Watson Conference Semi Final for our Ranger Men as mentioned, who are set to take Sandringham in a huge elimination final on Thursday 9 September. While crowds, gametime or even gameday is all subject to change, we’re looking forward to cheering on our boys and can’t wait to see them back in action very soon.

Good luck Rangers, the DBA Family is right behind you!
