Dandenong Basketball is thrilled to have two long-time Rangers riding with us for NBL1 2021, with Elly Morgan and Kodie Myszka committed to a huge season of Senior Women’s basketball.

Both have already made big contributions to our Senior Women’s season already, including our thrilling home opener victory against Mount Gambier on Saturday.

Each player will look to use this NBL1 season as a primer for college programs in 2021 as well. Elly Morgan is set to begin her journey with Florida International University after being delayed in 2020 while Kodie Myszka will join the University of Evansville after just recently committing to their program.

But before all that both players are thrilled to be joining our Senior Women’s program this year, with Elly in particular noting that she’s thrilled to be playing in the level of competition she’s looked up to since juniors.

“I started my journey at the Dandenong Rangers in Under 12’s, so it means a lot to be a part of their NBL1 program,” said Morgan. “Dandenong has provided a clear pathway for me to represent the Rangers at the NBL1 level and to compete in a league/team that I’ve been watching my whole junior career.”

“The league provides a great pathway for young athletes like myself to transition from junior basketball to seniors and grants us the opportunity to play against and alongside some of the biggest names in Australian women’s basketball, which is always exciting.”

Kodie echoed Elly’s statements with a similar sentiment, keen to be back playing basketball at a high level with her home association.

“Growing up being a Ranger has taught me the value of team and putting in the work to achieve,” said Myszka “It’s exciting to be playing for the Seniors as Dandenong Rangers has always been my home.”

“I’m super excited to be playing in the NBL1 South league this year, I can’t wait to play against some of the best basketballers in Australia each week.”

This week our Senior Rangers take on cross-town rivals Frankston Blues in what should be a thrilling NBL1 double-header.
