Dandenong Basketball is thrilled to welcome Michelle Gubbels back to the club as our Victorian Youth Championship Women’s Head Coach for 2022.

Having played her entire Junior career (including Domestic with Vales Basketball Club) and most of her Senior career with Dandenong, Michelle knows what it means to be a Ranger and is keen to return home.

“I’m looking forward to working with this Youth League team and immersing myself back in the club,” said Michelle. “There’s some terrifically talented women in the Rangers program and I’m really excited to work with them and return to where my basketball career started.”

Along with an extensive and successful playing career, Michelle has a strong background in both Junior and Senior basketball coaching, most recently as Head Coach at Wesley College and of the Bulleen Boomers Youth League team, leading both teams to strong campaigns.

DBA General Manager Larissa Anderson is thrilled to have Michelle return to the club.

“Michelle has an extensive history with DBA and she’s a great coach and a great person.

“I know how passionate she is about the Rangers and basketball as a whole and I’m really looking forward to seeing what she and our VYC Women can achieve together next season.”

A true Ranger at heart, Michelle will be a superb addition to our program and will no doubt prepare and guide our younger elite stars into strong senior basketball careers.
